This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes how Garden & Gun Magazine, LLC and our affiliates, subsidiaries, and related entities operating under the Garden & Gun brand (“Garden & Gun,” “us,” or “our”) collect, use, disclose, and retain personal information about individuals that interact with our businesses, websites, and other digital services, marketing campaigns, events, email newsletters, and other online or offline activity, offering, or publication that links to or references this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Services”).

Depending on the Services you use, we may collect the following categories of personal information about you directly from you, automatically through your use of the Services, and from third parties.
Information You Provide to Us
Contact information. Such as your name, mailing address, telephone number, or email address
Commercial information. Such as your purchase, registration, log-in information (like username and password) and Services usage history.
Payment information. Such as your credit or debit card number, expiration date, CVV code, billing and shipping addresses or other payment information when necessary to purchase the Services.
Contest, Sweepstakes, and Survey Information. Such as when you enter a contest or sweepstakes, information included in any responses submitted through surveys or questionnaires, or the content of any testimonials.
Information Automatically Collected
We and our third-party partners may automatically collect the following information from or in connection with your device when visiting or interacting with our Services.
Device data. including internet protocol (IP) address, operating system, device type and version, browser type and version, browser id, the URL entered and the referring page/campaign, date/time of visit, other user agent string data, the time spent on our Services, and any errors that may occur during the visit to our Services. Device data may overlap with the other categories of data listed below.
Analytics data. including the path taken to our Services, through our Services, and when exiting our Services, usage and activity on or in connection with our Services, metrics on how many emails we send are actually opened and which attachments or links are opened, clicked, or viewed (such as via pixels, as described further below).
Advertising/Advertising measurement data. including data associated with your view of, or your clicks on, advertisements served on our Services, cookie IDs or other digital or proprietary identifiers (e.g., iOS IDFA, Google AAID) assigned to such device, and device metadata, analytics data, and location data described above, in each case, for purposes of serving advertising (personalized or otherwise) or facilitating advertising measurement/attribution to better optimize or otherwise understand the effectiveness of ad campaigns.
Note that we and our third-party partners may combine information that each of us collects automatically with other information about you, including information you choose to provide.
Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies
We and our third-party partners may use cookies on our Services to store information about users on the users’ computers as well as other tracking technologies, such as web beacons, pixels, SDKs, scripts, location-identifying technologies, and logging technologies to automatically collect the personal information described in this section (and otherwise expanded upon in other sections). “Do Not Track” Signals
Your browser settings may allow you to automatically transmit a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal to websites and online services you visit. At this time there is no consensus among industry participants as to the meaning of “Do Not Track” in this context. Like many other websites, our Sites are not configured to respond to “Do Not Track” signals from browsers.

In addition to the uses described above, we may also use your personal information where we have obtained your consent to do so, or as otherwise permitted by law.
HOW WE DISCLOSE INFORMATION
Related Entities. We may disclose the personal information we collect about you to our parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, and related entities, operated or owned by Garden & Gun Magazine, LLC including Fieldshop by Garden & Gun and the Garden & Gun Club.
Public disclosure. If you choose to interact with us on social media, your screen name and other information you have provided will be public. If you attend one of our events, we may publish a photograph or video that includes your image. We may also publish information concerning winners of contests that we sponsor, as permitted by the contest rules.
Service providers. During the course of its business, Garden & Gun uses service providers, contractors and agents to provide a variety of business services on our behalf, for the purposes described above. For example, we use service providers to help us with credit-card and billing processing, shipping, marketing, marketing and advertising, list rental, email and text message distribution, data processing, mobile and website analytics, user authentication, security and promotions management, legal services, and financial services. In some instances, Garden & Gun may need to provide personal and/or non-personal information about you to such third parties. However, all third party service providers are prohibited from using your personal information for any purpose other than that for which they were selected to work with Garden & Gun.
Promotional partners. We may share information with third parties with whom we partner to provide contests, surveys, and sweepstakes, or other joint promotional activities.
Advertisers. We may provide your information to advertisers and marketing service providers to develop, manage, and conduct advertising and marketing campaigns, promotions, and offers, including about our content, products, and services or third parties’ products and services. We may also share information you provided when entering a contest with the sponsor(s) of the contest.
Data partners. We may share information with third-party data partners, such as data aggregators and data resellers. They may provide us with demographic information, information about your purchases, and other information that helps us learn about you and other visitors. We do not retain or preserve this information, or disclose any personal information that we may obtain in this manner to other third parties. We may also share the personal information we collect about you to data partners, such as (i) list buyers who market their goods and services (commonly known as “list rental”); (ii) our advertising, marketing and sponsorship clients to market their goods and services; (iii) “data coops,” which are pooled databases containing the customer information of multiple publishers to enable the marketing use of such customer information by participating publishers; (iv) consumer data suppliers/resellers, data enrichment providers and aggregators, and other entities in the online behavioral advertising ecosystem for purposes of OBA (as described below in this Privacy Policy); (v) social media and social networking services.
We may also disclose your personal information in the following circumstances:
Business Transfers. If (i) some or all of Garden & Gun or our affiliates are acquired by, merged with, or invested in by another company, or (ii) if any of our assets are or may be transferred to another company, whether as part of a bankruptcy, assignment for the benefit of creditors, insolvency proceeding or similar financial circumstances, we may transfer the information we have collected about you to the other company. As part of the business transfer process, we may disclose certain of your information to lenders, auditors, and third party advisors, including attorneys and consultants.
In Response to Legal Process. We may disclose your personal information where we believe necessary to comply with the law, a judicial proceeding, court order, or other legal process, such as in response to a court order or a subpoena.
To Protect Us and Others. We disclose your personal information where we believe it is appropriate to do so to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person, violations of our User Agreement or this Policy, or as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.
In addition to the sharing described in this Privacy Policy, we may share information about you with third parties whenever you consent to or direct such sharing or where notice is otherwise provided.
COOKIES AND RELATED TECHNOLOGIES
The Services use automatic data collection technology and services such as “cookies”, “web beacons”, “tags” and other similar technologies. A cookie is a small data file that is placed on the hard drive of your computer so that your computer will “remember” information when you visit a website. Web beacons and tags are small strings of code that are used in conjunction with a cookie and that allow us to record activity on our Sites/Services. THIRD PARTY WEBSITES
Please be aware that Garden & Gun advertisers, business partners, sponsors, service providers, and other third parties accessible through the site (such as via links from our websites and/or framed on our websites) may collect information about you pursuant to their own privacy practices. In addition, we maintain a presence on social media sites, which may collect information directly from you. Garden & Gun has no control over these parties and is not responsible for any actions or policies of such third parties. OUR COMMITMENT TO SECURITY
We have put in place physical, electronic, and managerial procedures that we believe are appropriate to safeguard and help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security, and correctly use the information we collect online. Please note that we cannot guarantee the security of our databases or sites, nor can we guarantee that information will not be intercepted while being transmitted over the Internet. In order to use some of the features of our websites, you may be required to create an account with us. For your protection, your account will only be accessible by means of a password or similar security measure. If you believe that your password or email address has been compromised, you should change your account with us immediately. If you forget your password, follow the instructions on the login page.
DATA RETENTION
Your personal information will be held for only so long as it is necessary for the purpose for which it was originally collected, and in accordance with applicable local law. We will retain your personal information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. When assessing retention periods, we first examine whether it is necessary to retain the personal information collected and, if retention is required, work to retain the personal information for the shortest possible period permissible under applicable law.
CHILDREN UNDER 16
The Garden & Gun websites are not intended for use by children, especially those under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16 through our websites. If you are a child under the age of 13 who intends to submit information to Garden & Gun through our websites, you must obtain your parent’s consent prior to making such a submission. Even if you are 16 or over, we recommend that all children under the age of 18 obtain parental consent prior to the submission or purchase of anything through our Services.
ACCESS TO YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION AND “OPT OUT” PROCEDURES

You have various options to “opt out” of receiving information from us and our marketing partners. For example, when you sign up for a subscription to Garden & Gun magazine, you have the option not to receive special offers and promotions by email from us or selected marketing partners. You also can opt-out from our newsletters by using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each message. If you no longer want to receive third-party email offers that you requested through our site, simply follow the advertiser’s unsubscribe link or opt-out instructions that should be included in every commercial message you receive.
You have various options to limit information that is collected through your devices. For example, you may set your browser so that it will decline cookies. If you do not wish to have cookies placed on your computer, you should set your browser to refuse cookies before using our websites, with the drawback that certain features of the sites may not function properly without the aid of cookies. California Shine the Light Act
Under California’s “Shine the Light” law, California residents have the right to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, a list of the third parties to whom we have disclosed certain types of personal information (if any) for their direct marketing purposes in the prior calendar year. At our option, we may respond to such requests by providing instructions about how our users can exercise their options to prevent our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. NON-U.S. VISITORS
The Garden & Gun websites are operated in the United States and intended for users located in the United States. However, if you are located in the European Union, you may have certain rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
